- Reset the coloured indicator by inserting the key in the slot below the indicator
1999-2003
- Turn the key to off position.
- Press and hold the SELECT and RESET buttons on the instrument panel and turn the ignition to position (II) - do not start the engine.
- Hold the SELECT and RESET buttons until the indicator resets.
- Turn the ignition off and then start the engine to verify the indicator has been reset.
Acura CSX
2006-2010
- Turn the ignition to (II) - do not start the engine.
- Press the SEL/RESET button on the steering wheel until you see the engine oil life display.
- Press and hold the SEL/RESET button on the steering wheel for more than 10 seconds. The remaining engine oil life reset mode will be shown on the multi information display.
- Select RESET by pressing the INFO (▲/▼) button, then press the SEL/RESET button to reset the engine oil life display. The maintenance item code(s) will disappear, and the engine oil life will reset to 100.
- Turn the ignition off and then start the engine to verify the indicator has been reset.
Acura EL
1997-1999
- Reset the coloured indicator by inserting the key in the slot below the indicator.

- Turn the key to off position.

- Turn ignition to (II) - do not start the engine.
- Press and hold the RESET button located at the bottom of the dash for more than 3 seconds until the reminder light turns off.
- Turn the ignition off and then start the engine to verify the indicator has been reset.
1996-2001
- Turn ignition to (II) - do not start the engine.
- Press the RESET button located below and to the right of the steering column (feel for a soft spot) until light goes out.
- Turn the ignition off and then start the engine to verify the indicator has been reset.
Acura Legend
1991-1995

2001-2005
- Turn the key to off position.
- Press and hold the SELECT and RESET buttons on the instrument panel and turn the ignition to position (II) - do not start the engine.

- Select RESET on the display and press the SELECT/RESET button.

- Turn ignition to (II) - do not start engine.
- Press the SELECT/RESET button until the oil life displays.
- Press and hold the SELECT/RESET button for 10 seconds, until the information displays asks for confirmation.
- Press the SELECT/RESET button to select OK to reset the display.
- Turn ignition off and then start the engine to verify the indicator has been reset.
2006-2010
- Turn the ignition to (II) - do not start the engine.

- Turn off the ignition.
- Locate the Service Interval Display, which is below the odometer.
- Do the following to display the service OIL message in the Service Interval Display:
a) Press and hold the TRIP ODOMETER RESET knob.
b) Turn on the ignition.
c) Release the TRIP ODOMETER RESET knob. - Pull out the CLOCK ADJUSTMENT knob.
- Press and hold the TRIP ODOMETER RESET knob until the message changes to service INSP, then release the knob.
- Pull out the CLOCK ADJUSTMENT knob, hold for 2 seconds and release.
- Turn off the ignition.
- Start the engine and verify indicator has been reset.
Manual Reset using DIS and Reset Knobs:

- Start the engine and verify indicator has been reset.
Press and hold the right RESET knob.
Release the knob.
Manual Reset for 2000 only:
- Turn off the ignition.
- Press and hold the TRIP RECORDER reset button on the instrument cluster and turn on the ignition.
- Release the button. The display will show SERVICE IN ---MI or SERVICE
- Within 5 seconds, turn the CLOCK ADJUSTMENT knob in the instrument cluster clockwise until the message resets to service in 15000KM.
- Turn off the ignition.
- Start the engine and verify indicator has been reset.
2005-2010

Manual Reset
- Turn off the ignition.
- Press and hold the TRIP ODOMETER button in the instrument cluster and turn the ignition to Accessory 1.
- Keep the button pressed for 5 seconds until OIL SERVICE RESET (RE) or INSPECTION RESET (RE) appears in the display. Then release the button.
- Press and hold the button again for 5 seconds until RE or RESET flashes in the display. Then release the button
- With the display flashing, press the button briefly to reset and display the new Service Interval.
- After this, END SIA appears in the display for approximately 2 seconds.
- Turn the ignition off and start the engine to verify the indicator has been reset
(E90, E91, E92) 2006-2010
Manual Reset
- Turn ignition to Terminal 15 which is one turn of the key or one press of the START/STOP button.
- Press and hold the Instrument Cluster Set/Reset button for 10 seconds.
- The upper display in the Instrument Cluster will be illuminated with a Service Item (example: An oil can is the designation for Oil Service). The lower display in the Instrument Cluster will indicate the remaining time or mileage left for that Service Item (example: 14000). Pressing the button repeatedly will allow the display to scroll through all of the Condition Based Service Items.
- Press and hold the Instrument Cluster Set/Reset button again and the lower display screen will indicate "OK" or "DUE".
- Pressing the Instrument Cluster Set/Reset button again will allow the "RESET" to appear in the lower window for that service. Releasing and reapplying the button one more time will reset the service displayed in the upper window only. Repeat the procedure for any additional service reset needs.
- Turn the ignition off and start the engine to verify the indicator has been reset.
BMW 5 Series
(E34, E39) 1988-2000.5

Manual Reset
- Turn off the ignition.
- Press and hold the TRIP ODOMETER button in the instrument cluster and turn the ignition to Accessory 1.
- Keep the button pressed for 5 seconds until OIL SERVICE RESET (RE) or INSPECTION RESET (RE) appears in the display. Then release the button.
- Press and hold the button again for 5 seconds until RE or RESET flashes in the display. Then release the button
- With the display flashing, press the button briefly to reset and display the new Service Interval.
- After this, END SIA appears in the display for approximately 2 seconds.
- Turn the ignition off and start the engine to verify the indicator has been reset
(E60) 2004-2005

- Press the RESET button or LOWER AXIAL (FAS) button on the turn signal/high beam switch to scroll through the menu.
- Select ENGINE OIL and press the RESET button for a few seconds to display a two (2) line menu in the tachometer.
- Press the RESET (or AXIAL) button to select the SERVICE AND MAINTENANCE.
- Press the RESET button again for a few seconds.
- Turn the ignition off and start the engine to verify the indicator has been reset
(E60, E61) 2006-2010
Manual Reset

- Press the RESET button or LOWER AXIAL (FAS) button on the turn signal/high beam switch to scroll through the menu.
- Select ENGINE OIL and press the RESET button for a few seconds to display a two (2) line menu in the tachometer.
- Press the RESET (or AXIAL) button to select the SERVICE AND MAINTENANCE.
- Press the RESET button again for a few seconds.
- Turn off ignition and restart vehicle to verify reset.
(E63, E64) 2006-2010
Manual Reset

- Turn ignition on but do not start engine
- Press the RESET button on the top left side of the instrument cluster for 10 seconds to display a four (4) line menu in the speedometer.
- Press the RESET button or LOWER AXIAL (FAS) button on the turn signal/high beam switch to scroll through the menu.
- Select ENGINE OIL and press the RESET button for a few seconds to display a two (2) line menu in the tachometer.
- Press the RESET (or AXIAL) button to select the SERVICE AND MAINTENANCE.
- Press the RESET button again for a few seconds.
- Turn the ignition off and start the engine to verify the indicator has been reset.

- Press the INFO button located to the left of the display to access the vehicle information menu.

- Release the trip reset button within 10 seconds of entering power mode If the manual reset mode has been successfully entered 'dISt' or 'DATE' will be displayed in the odometer, depending on which trigger has been activated.
- To clear the 'dISt' trigger press, and hold the trip reset button for more than 5 seconds within 10 seconds of entering the manual re-set mode. If successful, 'RESET' will be displayed in the odometer for 5 seconds. If the date trigger has not been activated 'END' will then be displayed in the odometer.
- If the date trigger has been activated, 'DATE' will be displayed in the odometer. To clear the trigger press and hold the trip reset button for more than 5 seconds within 10 seconds of 'DATE' being displayed. If successful, 'RESET' will be displayed within the odometer for 5 seconds followed by 'END' The odometer will now exit re-set mode.

Manual Reset Procedure:
- Press and hold the trip reset button.
- Turn the ignition switch on to the ignition position II (one position before starting engine).
- If the SII (Service Indicator Interval) function is enabled the information display will flash 'SERVICE' for 5 seconds and then display 'SERVICE' constantly. If the SII function is not enabled the information display will show the normal odometer and trip information.
- If the trip reset button is released within 10 seconds of entering the reset mode, the information display will show 'DIST'. If the trip reset button is not released after 10 seconds the instrument cluster will exit the manual reset procedure.
- If the oil service value is to be reset, press the trip reset button within 10 seconds for 5 seconds and then reset the oil service value, the display will then show 'END'.
- If the trip reset button is pressed for 5 seconds the display will exit the reset routine. If the trip reset button is not pressed for more than 10 seconds, then the information display will exit the reset routine.
